"The Hunger Games," by Suzanne Collins is the first book of the "The Hunger Games Trilogy." The annual Hunger Games (a fight to the death on live TV) takes place in the nation of Panem. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards the Hunger Games as a death sentence. However, survival for her is second nature, and without meaning to she becomes a contender. If she is to win, she will have to make choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
